Police Officer James Bonneau was shot and killed after responding to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.


Officer Bonneau and an officer from the Blackman Township Public Safety responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, they located the suspect, and a struggle ensued in which Officer Bonneau was shot and killed and the Blackman Township officer was wounded.

The suspect was shot and killed by the officers.

Officer Bonneau had served with the Jackson Police Department for two years.
